About Mike Goossen & Columns 4 Success
The Four Things Every Successful Business Has in Place
Columns 4 Success and Mike Goossen, CPA and CEO, represents the four guiding principles that a business must have in place to survive and thrive:
A business that is struggling with or lacking control in one or more of these disciplines is probably struggling to gain market share and maintain or build profitability.
Mike Goossen, CEO and Founder
Mike Goossen, CEO and founder of Columns 4 Success, has seen the toll this struggle takes on CEOs, companies, employees, and communities.
Mike began his career as a financial auditor and management consultant with a local CPA firm. He worked with a diverse set of clients, from privately held small businesses to large corporations to nonprofit organizations.
From there, he took on a challenging role as the controller of the Central California Blood Center. It was a personal and professional risk: the blood center was in significant financial trouble. But Mike took it on and with his existing skills and a desire to continue to grow professionally, he began developing a strategic focus and financial plan for the organization.
With the buy-in and help of the board of directors and the management team, they turned the organization around. Mike eventually became the CEO and twelves years later, when he left, the Central California Blood Center was in excellent condition. It continues to be successful today.
It was during those (sometimes very long) twelve years that Mike discovered how much he enjoyed helping good, but struggling, businesses become great.
Mike has been an independent management consultant, outsourced CPA, and financial strategist for businesses and nonprofit organizations with revenue from $1 to $10 million+ since 1999.
He became a faculty member with the Central Valley Business Incubator to work with start-up entrepreneurs. Several of these ventures are still operating and growing.
He expanded on his already significant skill set by seeking out more opportunities to help businesses and nonprofits with their financial and management challenges.
